F-1 Visa Success: Undergraduate Studies in USA

H
Hira Malik

My name is Hira Malik, and I’m from Karachi. After completing my A-levels with excellent grades, I wanted to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in the United States. My dream was to study Computer Science at a top US university, which would open doors to opportunities in Silicon Valley.

I approached Global Consultants to help me with the complex US application process. They helped me identify suitable universities based on my academic profile, budget, and career goals. I applied to several universities, including UC Berkeley, UCLA, and University of Washington. The consultants assisted with crafting compelling essays, gathering recommendation letters, and preparing for interviews.

I was accepted to UC Berkeley’s Computer Science program with a merit-based scholarship covering 50% of tuition. The consultants then helped me with the F-1 student visa application, which requires demonstrating financial capability, strong ties to home country, and clear academic goals. They prepared me thoroughly for the visa interview at the US Consulate in Karachi.

The visa interview went smoothly because I was well-prepared. I received my F-1 visa in June 2022 and arrived in California in August. UC Berkeley has been an incredible experience – the computer science program is world-class, and I’m learning from renowned professors. The campus is beautiful, and there are endless opportunities for research, internships, and networking.

I’ve already secured a summer internship at Google for next year, and I’m maintaining excellent grades. After graduation, I’ll be eligible for OPT (Optional Practical Training), which allows me to work in the US for up to 3 years. This could lead to an H-1B visa sponsorship.

The US education system is excellent, and I’m gaining valuable skills and experiences. The networking opportunities are outstanding, and I’ve made connections that will benefit me throughout my career. Global Consultants made the entire process smooth and provided excellent guidance at every step.
