My name is Ahmed Farooq from Multan. After completing my A-levels, I wanted to study Computer Science at a good university, but my family couldn’t afford expensive Western universities. Malaysia emerged as the perfect solution – offering quality education at affordable costs.
I discovered Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia’s premier university, through Global Consultants. They explained that Malaysia offers excellent education standards, English-medium instruction, and costs that are much lower than Western countries. Plus, it’s culturally similar to Pakistan, making the transition easier.
The consultants helped me with the application process, which included submitting my transcripts, English proficiency test results (IELTS 6.5), and completing the online application. They also helped me understand the visa requirements and prepare all necessary documents.
I was accepted to UM’s Computer Science program and received my student visa approval in May 2022. The consultants assisted with accommodation arrangements and provided pre-departure guidance. The entire process was smooth and well-organized.
I arrived in Kuala Lumpur in September 2022. The university campus is beautiful and modern, with excellent facilities including state-of-the-art computer labs, libraries, and recreational facilities. The professors are highly qualified, many with international experience, and the curriculum is comprehensive and up-to-date.
The cost of living in Malaysia is very reasonable – much lower than in Pakistan. Food is affordable and delicious, and there’s a significant Pakistani community, which made settling in easy. I found accommodation near campus for about RM 500 per month, and my monthly expenses are around RM 1,500 (including food, transport, and entertainment).
The education quality is excellent, and I’m gaining valuable skills in software development, AI, and data science. The university has strong industry connections, and I’ve already secured an internship at a leading tech company in Kuala Lumpur for the summer.
After graduation, I plan to either work in Malaysia (which offers good job opportunities for IT graduates) or pursue a Master’s degree. The Malaysian degree is recognized internationally, so I have many options. Studying in Malaysia has been an excellent decision, and I’m grateful to Global Consultants for their guidance.
